From contemporary to traditional designs, Ascherl Studios prides itself on its design and craftsmanship for the place of worship. Using traditional methods and specialized paints, each piece of glass is hand painted and kiln-fired, before being assembled together to create a lasting work of art.
Along with new church work, Ascherl Studios provides complete restoration work on church windows. Preservation work on windows that are over 100 years old often require special attention that is unique compared to new work. Complete restoration usually includes removal of the window, completely disassembling the window, cleaning each piece of glass and repairing or replacing broken pieces before reassembling the window with new lead caming. The ability to match the original glass is often a difficult task. As one of the oldest studios in the state, Ascherl Studios has one of the largest selections of old glass specifically used for restoration work.
Protecting valuable windows from Mother Nature as well as vandalism while still maintaining the aesthetic qualities of the window is a unique problem. Ascherl Studios will discuss storm protection options with the client and offer the most economical options available.
